What are cookies?
Cookies (and similar technologies like browser local storage) are small pieces of data saved on your device when you visit a website. They can be used for things like keeping a site working properly, remembering your preferences, or understanding how a site is used.
What we actually use
We keep cookie use to a minimum. Nothing optional runs without your say: you'll see a cookie banner the first time you visit, where Accept all and Reject all are equally easy, and you can reopen your choices at any time using the "Cookie settings" link in the footer. We ask again every six months, or sooner if the cookies we use change.

Cookie categories
Necessary
Required for the site to function — for example, remembering the cookie choice above. These can't be switched off, but they don't track you across other websites.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site (for example, which pages are popular and how people find us) so we can improve it. It's provided by Google Ireland Limited. Its code doesn't load at all unless you switch this category on, and you can switch it off again at any time. We don't use Google Analytics' advertising features, and the reports we see are aggregated, not about individuals. You can read how Google uses this data at policies.google.com.
Marketing
Reserved for any future advertising personalisation. Not currently used, and — like analytics — off by default until you explicitly opt in.
Fonts
Unlike many websites, we don't load fonts from Google Fonts or another third party at browse time. Our fonts are bundled with the website itself, so visiting this site doesn't send your IP address to a font provider.
Changing your mind
Click "Cookie settings" in the footer of any page to reopen your preferences and change them at any time. If you withdraw consent, we delete any analytics or marketing cookies already set on this site and reload the page so they stop immediately. You can also block or delete cookies and local storage entirely through your browser's own settings, though this may affect how well some sites work.
